The Doctors Company is currently seeking an Account Executive for our office in Los Angeles, California. As an Account Executive under general supervision, you will be responsible for providing direct sales and service. Contacts are physician prospects, current policyholders and employees at all levels, agents and members of the general public.

  • Ability to use a personal computer to create letters, memos, reports and moderately complex spreadsheets.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and set variables.
  • Independent thinking and overall self-management with little to no oversight.
  • BS or equivalent sales experience
  • Fire & casualty insurance license
  • Advanced insurance education is preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in healthcare or insurance sales including prospecting, sales and client retention
  • Medical professional liability insurance preferred





  • Networks to create new business opportunities

  • Builds relationships with third-party influencers to gain access to new business opportunities

  • Creates and executes targeted campaigns
  • Engages in campaign management and tracking


New Business Production

  • Obtains information needed to recommend appropriate coverage
  • Presents coverage options
  • Sets servicing/relationship expectations
  • Sells additional insurance policies to existing accounts as outlined above


Servicing Current Members

  • Manages account relationship
  • Provides ERM and other consultative services as appropriate
  • Nurtures personal relationship with decision makers
  • Highlights range of services provided by the company
  • Works with appropriate stakeholders to complete member service requirements
  • Responds to incoming member needs by gathering appropriate information, setting expectations and managing the process to completion


Policy Renewal

  • Obtains information needed to place or renew policy
  • Collaborates with team to set expectations and manage placement and renewal process
  • Collaborates with team to package information to obtain favorable terms
  • Directs marketing and placement efforts.
  • Presents terms to client


Conferences and Endorsed Program Management

  • Represents TDC at conferences and industry meetings to build networks and create new business opportunities
  • Represents TDC at business development opportunities with prospective clients, clients and third party influencers


Education and Development

  • Strives to improve healthcare industry knowledge
  • Works to improve knowledge of and presentation skills for TDCIS services
  • Works to improve insurance product and industry knowledge
  • Works to improve sales and customer relationship skills.


Other duties as assigned

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned by the RDBL or executive management
