The Doctors Company is currently seeking a full-time, entry-level Member Advocate for our Insurance Operations department in Napa, California.


In this role as a Member Advocate, you will serve as a primary point of contact for our member and agent communities and support our partner departments to deliver business processes efficiently. This role will involve utilizing both manual and system processes in performing a variety of tasks that include but are not limited to:

  • Respond to and effectively resolve policyholder requests, questions or complaints from customers, agents, or other sources
  • Ensure prompt invoicing and payment processing
  • Complete policy or system documentation and records maintenance efficiently with a high level of accuracy
  • Complete tasks with varying levels of complexity through internal processing systems with a high degree of accuracy; actively communicate results to the appropriate parties as necessary
  • Prepare routine correspondence, documentation or credentialing materials for appropriate policy holder/member or qualified Third Party requestors
  • Maintain thorough documentation  of activities and customer interactions
  • Ability to travel if necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • One to three (1-3) years of related customer service experience
  • One to two (1-2) years of Insurance or Health Care Industry Experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • INS, RPLU or CPCU designation, or progress in obtaining such designation, is preferred
  • Knowledge of Underwriting and Accounting principles preferred
  • Proficiency and aptitude in use of computer information systems with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
  • Excellent phone and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of phone systems including ACD
  • Ability to accurately type a minimum of 40 WPM
