Insurance Operations

 

The Doctors Company is currently seeking business process design and organizational change management project leads to join our Insurance Operations department. Individuals joining our team will manage projects focused on building new operational capabilities, optimizing existing capabilities and retiring outdated or redundant capabilities when appropriate. These projects will involve technology-enabled process design/engineering, organizational redesign and all aspects of organizational change management.

The Doctors Company is currently seeking a Project Lead to join the Insurance Operations team located in East Lansing, MI.

Position Mission

Lead business teams through the development and delivery of strategic and tactical projects that make operations easier, more efficient and effective, and provide TDC with competitive advantages.

Scope

 

Insurance Operations coordinates projects across departments in the company and the project leads are responsible for the successful delivery of those projects. To be successful in this role, individuals must:

 

  • Define & manage project plans covering the entire project lifecycle
  • Build and lead project teams assembled with staff from across the organization
  • Effectively identify and partner with Key Stakeholders

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Business or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience as Project Manager or Team Lead within all phases of the Project Lifecycle.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and capable of working with both local and distributed teams
  • Experience presenting to and facilitating cross-functional working sessions
  • Insurance or Health Care Industry Knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

 

 

Business Engineering & Organizational Change Management

           

 

  • Recommend, select and implement appropriate process design methods/ tools/ techniques to stakeholders
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to ensure effective process designs
  • Identify process areas that could benefit from system automation or consolidated work flows
  • Use data driven (or fact based) approaches to assess and monitor the effectiveness of new or modified processes and make adjustments as necessary
  • Ensure all individuals impacted by changes are trained and prepared for implementation

Project management and delivery

 

  • Recommend, select and implement project management methods/tools/techniques appropriate for assigned project(s)
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders and project team members to validate and ensure fulfillment of agreed upon outcomes
  • Instill a culture of planning, tracking and risk management
  • Ensure effective communication and expectations setting throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure projects are delivered upon agreed schedules and resources are used efficiently

Policy/Procedures Development and Compliance

 

Internal/External Customer Collaboration

 

  • Supports the definition of clear guidelines for setting policies and procedures with project stakeholders
  • Provides feedback and suggests changes on Insurance Operations service level agreements with internal/external partners

 

  • Manages internal customer relationships and develops a strong sense of partnership
  • Pro-actively manages project and stakeholders’ expectations
  • Solicits feedback and input to ensure Insurance Operations projects deliver expected value and results

Data Analysis & Reporting

 

  • Identifies methods and metrics that will provide insight to process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Analyzes of data and prepares appropriate presentation of results.
  • Presents findings to management and executives as necessary.
  • Escalates issues identified by data analysis when necessary.

Other duties as assigned

  • Performs other duties as assigned and approved by InsOps Group Leader.
